Bollywood (An Outsiders View)

Bollywood (An Outsiders View)

India is a conservative country with Mumbai its financial capital. It is tied in old customs, traditions and hardly has the infrastructure for lateral innovation. The Indian Society limits the individual growth due to its emphasis on the Family Based Society. So it is impossible for any industry to innovate. However two industries outshine even in these impossible circumstances: Bollywood and The Ad Industry.

The Bollywood Industry which takes in all the mavericks and makes them stars. In the City of Dreams, Mumbai (aka Bombay). Most of all it gives them a chance to express their personalities & maintain their individualities at the same time. If you want to do creative work and maintain your self-respect in the East (India), Bollywood is THE place. Off course the ride might be a bit bumpy. Come home to the stars.

Here are some of its prolific personalities of Bollywood since its inception to now:

Guru Dutt: Pyaasa
Dev Anand: Jewel Thief
Raj Kapoor: Aawara
Sunil Dutt: Mother India
Rajesh Khanna: Anand
Amitabh Bachchan: Sholay
ShahRukh Khan: Swades
Tangential: Satyajit Ray

The other industries (IT, Pharma and so on)  have to learn & apply from these industries to starve off global competition. There is simply no way out.

Caution: This might be all theory
