The Muslim Story
This blog is for my understanding about my tryst with Muslims and should not be taken as a reference for or against Muslims (Although I do not believe in caste, religion)
Family & School Life
As I grew up in school, there were whole lot of muslims along with people from other religion – Christians, Hindus. I had many Muslim friends and we were all the same. In fact some of my best friends then were Muslims. I grew up in a home where we were kept in a naked state as far as caste & religion were concerned. It was a choice of our own. To date, the state remains the same in our family. I have seen quite a bit of prejudice against Muslims in my country and in outside country. There might be some relevance to this prejudice but most of it is baseless if one looks at a century time-scale.
The Muslim Story on a Century Time-scale
Muslims were the early pioneers in many fields including arts, culture, science & biology (from the 8th to the 13th century). They have constructed magnificent architectures like the Taj Mahal & the Pyramids of Egypt. Irag was supposed to be the mecca of the Muslim World with major innovation in arts, culture and science.

The Muslims were then succeded mostly by the Western World (Christians) in all fields of arts, culture and science. This was mostly post-dark ages. Muslims then receded into human history untill the 19th century when oil became the currency of the world. It brought huge prominence and wealth to the Muslim community.
Afghanistan: The Game between Russia & Britain
It is believed the war in Afghanistan was a game between Russians and Britons destroying Afghanistan’s natural habitat and killing a whole lot of people and physically damaging a whole lot others. The Russians were succeeded by the Americans who supplied arms and ammo to the localities. This must have led to a lot of hatred in the Muslim young leading to many attacks by the Muslim World (mostly in Afghanistan) against the West. 9/11 could be one of these attacks a result of the war by Americans on Afghanistan. There were many other terrorist attacks on the West (England, Russia, India, Pakistan). Surprisingly India & Pakistan contain a whole lot of Muslims, Pakistan has a majority.

9/11
9/11 was one of the most dark spots in the civilization of human history. Two planes believed to be hijacked by Muslims from Afghanistan (Osama & party) crashed into the World Trade Towers bringing them down. Along with a whole lot of American business, confidence and their belief in foreigners. I visited America before and after 9/11 and I could feel a slight difference in their attitude towards me. Plus there were a whole lot of checks and security hindrance which makes trust between two humans a whole lot difficult.

Burkha
This is a very subtle point, but I find the Burkha an odd garment on a Muslim women whereas the men roam freely without any of it. It hinders into human-2-human communication (visual, audio and may be smell too). As most of the World is based on a visual tone, the Burkha greatly hampers the progress of Muslim women pushing them into the 4 closed walls of their homes.
Oil and Future
The prosperity and richness of a lot of Muslim World is based on the oil business which is mostly in the Gulf Nations. As countries, companies and individuals move to green power & fuel, oil would have a diminishing role in our daily life – cars, home & business. This will leave a majority of the Muslims without any skill for the future and fighting for their survival. If they have to scale up, they have to make a choice now of investing in education, innovation and new business like – biotechnology, clean energy and nanotechnology along with Information Technology.

The Current World
It is said soon there will be 1/3 of the Worlds population as Muslims. However without any prosperity in terms of science, education and innovation most of them would be reduced to the dark corners of the World. If they have to prosper, they have to come out of their shell (their past) and accept change, innovation and a western education. And on the other side – the Western World would have to accept & weave them into their Society.
Overall i feel it is a tough ride for Muslims ahead in the next 2 centuries untill unless they start taking steps towards change today. America and Europe have already notched the standard of civilization several levels up. One cannot bypass it and evolve. Everyone else would have to go through these bars.
Caution: This might be all theory
